He is risen!

After portraying the fun side of Easter in a manicure yesterday, I thought it would also be a good idea to to portray the more serious side, and the side closer to my heart.

I’ve been a fan of gradient manicures for a while and I’ve seen plenty of the ‘island in the sunset’ manicures, so I thought I would do a twist on it of the three crosses on the hillside.

He is risen!

I started by painting my nails with Barry M Matt White to get an even base before doing my gradient. I then cut up a makeup sponge to make it the right size for my nails, then painted onto it Barry M Blood Orange, Block Orange and Yellow in stripes, blending them together a bit. I then sponged the polish onto my nails, making sure I got a good gradient. After that had dried, I used L.A. Colors Black Striper to paint on the black hill. Finally, I used a tiny paintbrush and the same black polish to paint on the crosses before finishing with a top coat.

I’m so pleased with how it came out :)

‘For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures…’
1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (NIV)

Happy Easter everyone!
