Sweets: M&Ms and Skittles

It was quite an exciting day for me yesterday! I took the leap of setting up my very own nail art challenge group on Facebook called She Who Does Nail Art Challenges. The plan is to set a theme every Monday and throughout the week, members can submit pictures and blog posts of their manicures that are to do with that theme! I would be great if you could join us!

The first challenge started yesterday and the theme of the weeks is Sweets/Candy. I think food inspired nails were always going to be my first choice of themes! I did after a while though, think that maybe this was quite a hard theme to choose as the first one.

I started this about what my favourite sweets and treats are and very quickly thought of M&Ms! I thought these would look great on my nails so decided to do one M&M per nail. I also thought it would be a nice twist to paint my ring finger as a Skittle as those are my Dad’s favourite sweets – and conveniently very much like an M&M in appearance!

She Who Does Nail Art Challenges: Sweets - M&Ms and Skittles

I started by painting each of my nails with a base of Barry M Blood Orange, Barry M Spring Green, Barry M Yellow and Barry M Block Orange. After those colours had dried, I used a teeny tiny paintbrush dipped into Barry M Matt White to paint on the m’s and s.

Overall, I am so so pleased with how this manicure turned out! Scroll down below to see other entries to the Sweets theme this week, and don’t forget to join the She Who Does Nail Art Challenges Facebook group!

For this manicure I used:
  • OPI – Nail Envy
  • Barry M – Blood Orange
  • Barry M – Block Orange
  • Barry M – Yellow
  • Barry M – Spring Green
  • Barry M – Matt White
  • Seche Vite – Quick Dry Topcoat
