Review: Mavala Sublime Collection Espresso

This is a press sample.

Last week I received some really lovely nail mail in the post from Mavala in the form of their new Sublime Collection, six polishes perfectly suited to this cooler time of year.

Today I have for you one of the darker polishes in the collection – Espresso. Espresso is a rich dark coffee colour, almost of the colder tones of brown than the warmer which makes it quite an unusual brown polish.

Mavala Sublime Collection Espresso Review

Mavala polish bottles are absolutely adorable – a smart shape and a dinky size at 5ml, but perfect to just chuck in your make up bag or handbag to take away with you.

The photos here show three coats of polish, but I did my coats quite thin so you could probably get away with two thicker coats. The brush is nice and smooth and the polish applies very evenly without any glooping or running. The colour too, being that bit colder, is absolutely perfect for my skin tone. What a perfect colour of Autumn/Winter too!

I’ve had such a good idea for nail art for this polish – a little coffee cup pattern on my nails – but haven’t had time to paint them this week. but keep checking my blog for the new design!

Mavala polishes are “free from parabens, formaldehydes, toluene, camphor, cellophane, animal ingredients and heavy metal”, so it is good to know that they have spent time finding such a good formula without added unhealthy chemicals.

Espresso and all of the other polishes in the Sublime Collection are due to be released into stores such as John Lewis or Boots around Mid-November time, which is now so keep your eyes peeled for these stunning autumnal shades selling for only £4.50 each.
