Tutorial: How to Paint Flamingo Nails

So I’ve had a request to do a tutorial of how to paint my flamingo nails, and as it is really very easy, I thought I would oblige!

You will need a light blue polish, a bright pink polish, a light pink polish, a small paintbrush and a dotting tool or toothpick. And don’t forget your base coat and topcoat!

So here we go….

How to paint Flamingo Nails Tutorial Step 1

First, paint your nails with one coat of light blue polish. Here I used Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream, but in the nail art post I did of Flamingos before, I used Sinful Colors Cinderella.

Choose a medium-bright pink and using a small paintbrush paint a semi circle on the tip of your nail. Here I used Barry M Bright Pink.

Using the same pink, paint an S shape starting with the head going down to join up with the body. Made the top of the S (the head of the flamingo) a little bigger than the neck.

Now choose a lighter pink and paint a little semi circle on the tip of your nail for the flamingo’s wing. Here I used Angelica Marshmallow.

Next, use a white nail polish (I used Barry M Matt White) and a tiny paintbrush to paint a little line at the end of the S for the start of the beak.

Next use your white polish and dotting tool to create the large white dot of the eye.

Pick up your tiny paintbrush again and choose a black nail polish and draw the curve of the black beak in front of the white line you painted. Here I used Nails Inc Black Taxi.

Finally, use a toothpick or tiny dotting tool with your black polish to make the pupil in the eye of your flamingo!

And this should be the finished article!
