Advent Tutorial: Christmas Lights

Morning everyone! Have you all opened your advent calendars this morning? I managed to find a couple of Cadbury ones in the end the other day so we’ve had some catching up to do.

Now I bet you’re all wondering what’s behind the door of my nail art advent calendar today. Well, I can tell you that it’s some Christmas Lights!!

This is a really cute design to have swirling across your nails and looks great with that little touch of glitter!

Advent Tutorial: Christmas Lights Nail Art Step 1

Start by painting your nails with a base colour of white. You could use any colour here that you won’t be using for your lights, but I think white helps them to stand out more. I used Barry M Matt White.

Next, take a small paintbrush and a black nail polish and paint a swirling line from one side of your nail to the other. I used Nails Inc Black Taxi.

Use the same paintbrush and black polish to paint little lines where you want your light bulbs to go!

Finally, choose your favourite bright colours and paint little bulbs shapes onto their lines. The colours I used here are all Barry M polishes in shadees: Blood Orange, Yellow, Spring Green, Blueberry Ice Cream and Bright Pink.

And here’s what the finished manicure look like…

Create the most imaginative swirl of lead across your nail as you can. You know how tangled they get in the box!

As always, don’t forget to tag me in your tweets and instagram pictures if you give it a go! I love to see your nail art designs :)
