Advent Tutorial: Mistletoe

It’s Tuesday and I have another nail art tutorial for you! Honestly, this advent calendar is going to leave a big hole in my life when it’s gone.

Today’s tutorial is of a lovely piece of mistletoe strung up on a bow!

For this tutorial you will need a small paintbrush, three different shades of green polish (one glittery), a white, a gold and any backing colour!

Advent Tutorial: Mistletoe Nail Art Step 1

Paint your nail with any backing colour that will stand out against green, gold and white. I chose Barry M Blood Orange.

Paint a series of droopy leaf shapes on your nail, going down in a line like this with your dark green polish. This green is Barry M Racing Green.

With a lighter, glittery green, paint over your leaves a little bit to give them a bit of 3D sparkle! I used China Glaze Paper Chase.

Take a lighter green still and paint the little contour line onto each leaf. This green is Essie Navigate Her.

Use the tiny paintbrush again, this time with a gold polish and paint a little bow at the top of the mistletoe stem. The gold I used is Barry M Foil Effects Gold.

Advent Tutorial: Mistletoe Nail Art Step 6

You can use a dotting tool and a white polish to add a couple of berries to the branch of mistletoe. And why not add a couple of branches to each nail!

Mistletoe is such a cute Christmassy thing that is lovely excuse for a little smooch with your loved one this time of year. Try using it as an excuse, hold your mistletoe nails above your head and see if you get kissed!
