Grand Opening Giveaway: Max Factor Fantasy Fire

So here is the first giveaway!

I was going to wait a while to create one, but haven’t for three reasons. Firstly, I am far too impatient to wait for anything. Secondly, I saw this nail polish while shopping yesterday and couldn’t help but buy it again. And thirdly, I want to make these giveaways a really regular thing as I want them to be at the heart of the blog, and therefore at the beginning!

The super exciting delivery and the wonderful boyfriend

On Wednesday during an Asos browsing (that was the intention I promise) session, I discovered the sale. Oh dear. Now usually this is good news for my wardrobe and bad news for my purse, but I thought I would have a browse through the beauty section of the site not knowing about their range of nail polishes. Well, the “browsing” session ended up being good news for my nail polish collection (but still bad news for my purse). I bought six polishes in all, and they all arrived yesterday!

First off I found a set of Models Own Beetlejuice polish which I had seen around a few times, but this had 20% off and was only £7 for three full size bottles! That went straight in the basket. Spending money doesn’t make me feel as guilty when the purchase has been reduced…

In the collection were Golden Green – a gorgeous shimmery duochrome polish that crosses between a bright gold and lime green when flashed in different lights, Emerald Black – another duochrome that tends to sway between a deep green and a navy more than a black which I think is to die for, and Pinky Brown – this duochrome seems to have little flecks of relective glitter in it which is a nice rich pink but changes to a dirty gold in some lights. Believe me – they are way prettier than the picture can do justice.

Review: Max Factor Max Effect Mini Nail Polish – Fantasy Fire

FIRST POST. Scary times. Bear with me.

As I’ve been getting this blog up and running over the last few days I have been trying to decide which nail polish I should use in my first post. I’ve bought so many nail polishes in recent weeks that am STILL yet to use so it was a harder decision than you think. Really.

Plenty of huffing and puffing later I settled on this. Fantasy Fire made by Max Factor.

I bought this nail polish just last weekend from Boots simply because my sister told me it had sold out ‘everywhere’.  No matter how much of an exaggeration that was, I NEEDED IT. It was only £3.99 so I snuck it into my basket and took it home as my own.

The bottle itself seems incredibly small, but you as it is part of the Max Factor ‘Mini’ collection, you can forgive that. The colour in the bottle however, it AMAZING. It is sort of purple with a holographic glitter with a weird redish-pinkish-goldish-greenish shimmer. If you get my drift. Although, I’m not sure imagination could do it justice.

On application, this nail polish needs at least two coats. When I applied the first coat, it was immediately disappointing and it ruined five minutes of my day. After I had done the second coat though, it was actually quite pretty.
