Jewellery Challenge: Tiffany nails!

The new nail art theme for the She Who Does Nail Art Challenges group this week is ‘Jewellery’, which I know a lot of us are excited about!

I was looking through my polish collection trying to decide what to paint around this theme and noticed one of my favourite polishes – Topshop Easy Breezy. This immediately made me think of the Tiffany boxes with the white bows on and knew that I had to choose that for nail art!

Tiffany's Nails

I started by painting my nails with two coats of Topshop Easy Breezy and once that had dried, I used the Barry M Nail Art Pen in White (review HERE) to draw on the bow and ribbon design. I used a toothpick and a bit of clear polish to stick on the gem before painting on a Seche Vite topcoat.

I’m so chuffed with how this looks. Subtle and classy but still fun and cool.

I’m thinking of doing a tutorial for this look, would anyone be interested?

Fast Food Challenge: Fried Chicken Nails

Please tell me this looks like fried chicken legs! I know my ring finger is a bit weird, but literally no one at work could work out what they were :(

It has been so so hard coming up with another manicure for the fast food theme in the She Who Does Nail Art Challenges group, especially after the mad success of my McDonalds design!

Finally, I came up with the idea of fried chicken nails. It looked better in my head before I started painting it, admittedly.

Fast food Challenge - Fried Chicken Nails

I started by painting one base coat of Barry M’s Blueberry Ice Cream and then used a tiny paintbrush to paint the chicken bits of the chicken with LA Colors Bronze Bombshell, also using it to paint my ring finger. After that, I used the new Barry M Nail Art Pen in White to draw on the little chicken bones (still loving these pens – see my review HERE). Finally, I used a brown acrylic paint to create the texture on my ring finger and on the little chicken pieces.

I hope you all like it! It’s making me want a KFC for lunch!

Sweets: Lollipops!

Today is the last day of the sweets theme in my nail art challenge group, She Who Does Nail Art Challenges. We’ve seen some amazing entries, and cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with for the next week’s theme which is Fast Food! Why don’t you come and join the group too?

I had this idea for a manicure a few days ago, but I needed to get a few other posts done before I could think about doing it. So last night I finally sat down to do it!

Lollipops Nail Art

I started by painting my nails with a white base of Barry M Matt White so that when I sponged a gradient over the top, I would get bolder, more consistent colours. The polishes I used for the gradient were Barry M Bright Pink, Barry M Blueberry Ice Cream and Barry M Mint Green. Can you tell I like Barry M polish yet?! Haha. You’ll also notice that I reversed the gradient on my ring finger just to mix it up a bit!

After the gradient had dried, I used Konad White and the lollipop image on the Mega Cheeky Stamping Plate A to stamp the lollipop image on in a random pattern. I also used Barry M Nail Art Pen in White to draw the white stripes on my ring finger. Finally, I topped it all off with a Seche Vite topcoat to make it all shiny!

Good enough to eat!
