If you follow me on Twitter, you may have heard whispering of this over the last few weeks…
Introducing, the She Who Does Nails Advent Calendar of Nail Art 2013!
Happy Easter! I hope you’re all having a lovely Easter weekend Here in the UK we get a four day weekend over Easter so we’re having a great time!
Today I decided to do a fun take on Easter. I’ve seen quite a few manicures of bunnies, chicks and easter eggs over the last week, so I thought I would have a go at it too!
I started by painting my nails with Models Own Lilac Dream, Barry M Lemon Ice Cream, Topshop Easy Breezy and Barry M Bright Pink. I waited until it was dry and then used a tiny paintbrush, a dotting tool and a selection of nail polishes (listed below) to paint on the Easter egg patterns. I especially love my index finger!
For the bunny, I used a tiny paintbrush and Barry M Matt White to paint the shape of the bunny and once that had dried I used Barry M Bright Pink to paint in the ears and nose. Finally I used a dotting tool and Nails Inc Black Taxi to dot on the eyes!
Have you had a go at an Easter manicure?
When I first got my Bundle Monster stamping plates, I knew this was a manicure that I had to try. Big cats are my favourite animals (stay tuned for the leopard print) and the thought of sporting a cat-coat on my nails was definitely appealing.
The Barry M Block Orange was really lovely to work with. I am a huge fan of Barry M polishes (if you don’t already know) and this polish only took two coats to become opaque. LOVE IT. Not sure the colour suits my complexion too much, but I love it too much to care.
As usual, the Konad special polish worked really well while stamping. I was a little impatient waiting for it to dry before putting the top coat on so I got some annoying smear-age, but I still like the final effect.
The only way I think I could have made this manicure a little more me would have been to put a glittery coat on the top, as I did feel that it lacked something sparkly.
I’m totally getting the hang of this stamping thing now which according to my recently viewed items on Amazon, is a bad thing. My poor purse is going to have meltdown.
For quite a while I have been following this blog written by the Nailasaurus! She uses stamping plates to make awesome patterns on her nails, which I absolutely love! Her leopard print designs are FABULOUS.
This week I finally took the the plunge and order this set of stamping plates, and this stamp for Amazon. How exciting! The stamping plates arrived in the post today, but the stamper hasn’t arrived yet. Gutted because I want to try out the cool designs!
Get ready to see some fun stamping designs from me in the next few weeks!
