So after wearing Topshop’s Easy Breezy for a day and a half, I still colour not bring myself to remove it. I really do love this colour! So for this manicure, I decided to recycle yesterday’s.
Yesterday I received some new stamping plates in the post along with some gems! How exciting! I’ve never used gems before and I’ve seen plenty of blog posts and video tutorials about them. On one of the jumbo Cheeky plates I got was a really cute set of three flowers in different sizes , so I decided to stamp those onto my nails.
My first attempt was made with the wrong stamping colour entirely. Lesson learned – Barry M Bright Pink does not stamp well AT ALL over this colour. Instead I chose to use Barry M Foil Effects Silver and stamp one or two flowers onto each nail.
It’s safe to say that I did a better job on my left hand than my right hand, but you’ll only see the left one anyway!
After I had stamped the flowers, I poured out some little clear gems onto my tray and gradually placed them at the centre of each flower with a bit of clear nail polish, finishing with a topcoat over all my nails.
As soon as I had finished and looked at them under a bright light, the colour immediately reminded me of those of the Tiffany jewellery brand. How cute!
What surprised me the most was the durability of these little gems – or the strength of my topcoat! They’ve survived the shower, several hand scrubs, a night in bed and many a handbag rifle. Really good news for someone like me!
Have you ever used gems before?
